Since 1982, Thomas Marine Construction has delivered expert civil construction services throughout Southwest Florida. As part of the Owen-Ames-Kimball family since 2007, we offer the best of both worlds: the personalized attention and responsiveness of a locally-operated company combined with the financial strength, insurance capacity, and bonding power of a firm with over 130 years of construction excellence. Thomas Marine Construction was founded in 1982 by Dean C. Thomas, PE, and has operated from our headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida since building our first permanent office in 1985.
In 2007, Dean retired and sold the company to Owen-Ames -Kimball — a partnership that proved ideal. The transaction was carefully structured to preserve TMC's day-to-day operations and company culture while gaining the substantial advantages of our parent company's resources.
Today, Thomas Marine operates with significant independence from our home office, combining personalized small-company service with the backing of over 130 years of employee-owned stability and financial strength. This unique structure provides our clients with exceptional insurance and bonding capacity and provides our employees with a great culture that inspires them to stay and grow with the company.
Our parent company, Owen-Ames-Kimball, was founded in 1891 and has a rich history of bridge and civil construction. Some of the bridge and structure construction photos featured here date back to 1938, showcasing nearly a century of experience building the types of structures TMC constructs today.
